Pigeon Island: The Snorkeler's Marine Sanctuary

Pigeon Island is one of Sri Lanka's two marine national parks, located just a short boat ride off the coast of Nilaveli. The island is renowned for its spectacular shallow coral reefs, which are home to blacktip reef sharks, sea turtles, and vibrant schools of tropical fish. It is an absolute paradise for snorkelers and divers. A park entry pass and boat transit are required. Visit from May to September when the seas are calm and visibility is at its peak. This is a must-visit for anyone who wants to swim in clear tropical waters.
