About Destination

Adam's Peak: The Sacred Pilgrimage

Adam's Peak is a 2,243-meter conical mountain revered as a sacred site by four major religions. The pilgrimage involves climbing thousands of stone steps, usually starting at midnight to reach the summit for sunrise. It is a challenging, physically demanding climb, best attempted during the pilgrimage season (December–April). You travel here for the spiritual atmosphere and the incredible sight of the mountain's triangular shadow at dawn. Prepare for cold temperatures at the summit and bring warm clothing.
